Now that the last few boxes of Xmas chocolates are starting to disappear and we are horrified by what we see when we get on the scales, our thoughts naturally turn to making some improvements in our diet and lifestyle.  I am no exception and always over-indulge at Christmas but this new year I have been particularly inspired to start eating more healthily.

I am not a fan of words like 'diet' and 'detox' as they conjure up images of bootcamps, obsessive calorie counting and watery soup.  However I have recently come across some very interesting information about the role of food to our health which has inspired me to take more seriously the health-giving aspects of eating the right foods.

The foods we eat are metabolized in our bodies and leave a waste product in our bodies that is either acidic or alkaline in nature.  If it is alkaline, it can be quickly extracted from the body with little energy.  However acid waste products are very hard for the blood and lymphatic system to eliminate so they are stored in our organs and tissues as solids - low vibration crystalline forms that create blocks or disruptions in the vibratory level of our cells and therefore our organs and tissues.  When the cells become more acidic, it is a signal to the microbes living within us to start decomposing the tissue.  Now think of the impact of this in terms of our physical health: human disease is the result of a drop in vibrational energy and the natural degeneration process.  It is said that debilitating illnesses such as arthritis, stroke and cancer exist because we pollute our bodies, which signals to the microbes inside us that we are ready to de-energise and break down. Obviously there are other factors to take into consideration such as genetic predisposition and environmental pollution but there does seem to be a widely held acknowledgement that an alkaline body is much healthier than an acidic one.

So which are the acidic foods we should eat less of and which are the alkaline foods we should eat more of?  The acid-producing foods are, sadly, the usual suspects, ie. heavy, overcooked, over-processed sweet foods such as meat, pastries, cake, biscuits, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, meat, most fish, rice, bread, dairy, pasta, noodles and the sweeter fruits.  All these foods leave the body feeling sluggish.  Energetically our energy field becomes heavier and vibrates at a lower frequency.

Alkaline foods are greener, fresher and more alive, eg. fresh veg and vegetable juices, leafy greens, sprouts, avocado, potatoes, coconuts, brazil nuts, almonds, seeds, herbs and fruits such as tomato, grapefruit and lemon.  Near neutral foods are milk, butter and vegetable oils.

Improving the Balance

All very alarming stuff but the good news is that even if we currently have too much acidity in our bodies, the decomposition process can be reversed if we improve our nutrition and move to a more alkaline, high energy state.  I decided to kickstart my own move to healthier eating by taking Molkosan, a liquid supplement you add to a little water, which helps to neutralise acidity and promote a more alkaline enviroment within the body.  According to liferesearchuniversal.com, the ideal ratio is 75-80% alkali and 20-25% acidic food.

One of the therapies I offer is the Aqua Detox Foot Spa treatment.  This is similar to a traditional foot spa but during this treatment toxins are released through the pores in the soles of the feet due to the action of an ionisation unit. The treatment also works to restore the balance of positive and negative ions in the body and rebalance the energy field.  Whenever I have taken this treatment myself, at times when I have felt out of sorts, I've been amazed by just how 'well' I felt afterwards.  I'm convinced that this treatment raises the energetic vibration of our field, improving health and vitality.

Importance to the Healer/Therapist

As a healer it is essential that my energy field vibrates at as high a frequency as reasonably possible to prevent being depleted and to channel high frequency energies.  Experience has also taught me that the healer acts as a tuning fork during treatments to raise the vibration of the client.  Although I regularly practice meditation, I realise I have to put in the same level of commitment to my physical body if I am to fully integrate a high personal vibration on all levels of my being.
